Depression / Anxiety
Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behavior, and feelings. People with a depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, and angry. They may lose interest in activities that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, experience relationship difficulties and may contemplate or even commit suicide. Symptoms of depression include insomnia, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems, or reduced energy.
Anxiety is characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, often accompanied by nervous behavior, panic, such as pacing back and forth and unpleasant feelings of dread. Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness and worry, usually generalized and unfocused as an overreaction to a situation that is only subjectively seen as menacing. It is often accompanied by muscular tension, restlessness, fatigue and problems in concentration. Anxiety can be appropriate, but when experienced regularly the individual may suffer from an anxiety disorder. This can also be a common side affect from chronic illness
