Lyme Disease &
Mold Toxicity

Dr. Crozier is respected nationally for his innovative treatments and therapies for Lyme disease and mold toxicity. Diseases and illnesses related to Lyme and mold, and their symptoms, are often similar and co-infections occur in many patients.

Lyme disease, most commonly known as Borrelia Burgdorferi, is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the Borrelia type, carried by ticks and other insects. The most common initial sign of infection is an expanding area of redness, known as erythema migranes, that begins at the site of a tick bite about a week after it has occurred. The rash is typically neither itchy nor painful. Approximately 50% of infected people do not develop a rash and may not even realize they’ve been infected until it’s too late. Other early symptoms may include fever, headache, and fatigue. If untreated, symptoms may include some paralysis, severe headaches, joint stiffness and pain, heart palpitations, among other physical and neurological problems. Despite appropriate “traditional” treatment, some people develop chronic, long-term, and debilitating health problems.

Mold toxicity often strikes people with similar symptoms. There are more than 100,000 species of mold. Some are more dangerous than others, like “black mold” which can develop in homes or offices when there is chronic dampness and limited air circulation and causes serious physical, neurological, and even mental illness. This is particularly true for individuals who appear to have less ability to eliminate mold-related toxins from their bodies. Exposure to high concentrations of mold spores over an extended period results in the accumulation of these toxins in the body. Molds excrete toxic compounds called mycotoxins, secondary metabolites produced by fungi under certain environmental conditions. These environmental conditions affect the production of mycotoxins at the transcription level. Certain mycotoxins can be harmful or lethal to humans and animals when exposure is high enough, and can cause a variety of mild to serious symptoms.

Dr. Crozier does not subscribe to long-term antibiotic treatments for Lyme. He can get to the root of your illness by examining his patients on an intracellular level.
